About the National Youth Theatre Awards
The First Annual National Youth Theatre Awards were presented on June 12, 2006 to honor outstanding work in youth theatre throughout the country. That year, 40 youth productions from 4 different states were considered for the awards.

This is the National Youth Theatre's Fifth Annual Awards and more than 200 productions were considered for the awards, including shows from more than 100 different theatres in more than 50 cities spanning 15 states. The award winners were selected from nominations by a panel of eighteen judges and reviewers.
